About the exhibition
(Bosanski ispod)
Gallery of Contemporary Arts Manifesto is pleased to announce the solo exhibition "Black Box" by Vuk Đurić. The performative opening will be held on March 15, starting at 19:00.
In mainstream culture, the term >>black box<< has become known as a label for a device that records all flight data and is used as a key source in plane crash investigations. However, it is also used in other fields and industries - from physics and computer technologies to behavioral psychology - and always implies an unknown, opaque, or non-transparent data processing process. Therefore, a broader understanding of this term inevitably leads to the realization that black boxes are all around us. And in us.
With this exhibition, Vuk Đurić, for the first time, presents "the output data of the black box of his life," i.e., dozens of sketchbooks filled with drawings from cover to cover. Thousands of visual records are the product of ten years of analyzing and recording the world around him and in him. Like any other black box, this exhibition leaves the artistic process somewhat hidden and non-transparent while offering a large amount of output visual data that needs to be individually and subjectively decoded.
That is why Đurić's works can only be viewed individually, so we invite you to book a visit via the link: https://doodle.com/bp/manifesto1/crna-kutija-by-vuk-uri
The exhibition is open until April 13, 2024.
Vuk Đurić was born in 1992 in Istok. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts in Pristina, headquartered in Kosovska Mitrovica, at the Graphic Design department. He completed his master's studies at the same faculty in 2018. He coordinates the artistic activities of the Days of Urban Culture (DUK) festival in Čačak. He is in charge of several projects and participated in two art colonies. He created dozens of murals in public spaces in the country and abroad. So far, he has exhibited in dozens of group exhibitions; some of the more recent ones are Artinfest 4 (Fabrika Pfaff, Kaiserslautern, 2018), Squared Skills (Culture pop Gallery, Berlin, 2019), Dok 10 (Ustanova kulture Parobrod, Belgrade, 2021), and LAGraffiti (Lag Gallery, Belgrade, 2022). He presented his work at eight independent exhibitions, among which the most recent are Who's Afraid of the Wolf Yet? (N.O. Concept gallery, Belgrade, 2021), and Exhibition of paintings (Kulturni centar Čačak, 2023).

I u nama.
(N.O. Concept galerija, Beograd, 2021.), te Izložba slika (Kulturni centar Čačak, 2023.).
