O izložbi

(English below)

Bogorodica postaje filozofski simbol lišen svoje svetosti, izobličena ljudska figura oznaka naslućene budućnosti, a tamno more ponor bezdušnosti u koji vrtoglavom brzinom padamo.

About the Exhibition

Manifesto Gallery is proud to announce a solo exhibition by Milivoje Kasapović—an artist who worked quietly but tirelessly, leaving behind a unique example of Bosnian-Herzegovinian surrealism. The exhibition will officially open on Friday, March 28, at 7:00 PM!

Kasapović’s paintings draw from a wide range of narratives, from biblical stories and post-apocalyptic visions to dreamlike imagery. His compositions undergo symbolic transformations to such an extent that they resist conventional religious and psychoanalytic interpretations. The Virgin Mary becomes a philosophical symbol stripped of its sanctity, the distorted human figure a sign of an impending future, and the dark sea a chasm of soullessness into which we rapidly descend.

Within the Sarajevo art scene, Kasapović was a lone wolf—painting relentlessly yet exhibiting rarely, developing his own surrealist visual language despite the dominant cultural shifts. His distinctive style is marked by a dark palette, thick layers of paint, and a precise yet intuitive and unrestrained brushstroke—turbulent, like the open sea.

The exhibition will be open until April 11, and visitors can explore it during regular hours: Tuesday – Saturday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and Sunday: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
